Measuring Skis

When you measure do you press the tape measure down against the topsheet or just go straight tip to tail above the ski

I don't know if it's the right way or not, but I go straight from tip to tail, not touching the topsheet.

jw the exact same thing, both methods will find true center, it's just the exact middle of the ski, but i was wondering if i should divide in half based on not pressing the tape down and then measuring that up from the tail and mounting there

To find the actual ski length the tape measure must be pressed against the ski.
