so last season on so my occasions when me and my buddies were having really good night ( we ski nights alot) and we felt like getting the camera out for a some filming, after about 3 runs my camera would frees, and the camera would not be able to access its harddrive. dose this happen to any of you oter ns'ers out there and how do you prevent it?
happens to most cameras unless the are "freeze-proof' or made 4 rugged use. If a camera comes out of a warm car/room into real cold temps the moisture inside can freeeze on something inside or lubricants can stiffen up. Some cameras have optimum temperatures and they won't work in the cold... and batteries run only half as long as in the warm. So keep and extra charged battery to finish the shoot. Buy some hand-warmers / footwarmers to keep the camera warm or stick them in your arm pits when not in use to keep them warm or get like a camping cooler and use one of those big back heating pads for the gear.
