Why is it that so many people repeatedly fail to notice (this isn't the first comp I've where I've noticed this) that it's PK Hunder not Hunter or is this like PK Hunder's evil twin who's also wicked good at double corks?
^well I'm glad you've got it straight, alls I know is if I was him and people were giving some Hunter fellow all the accolades I'd be all kinds of pissed off
pk
PK PK PK
No Tanner didnt compete, was the main judge tho. It was kinda disappointing as all the event flyers etc.. publiced him to make it seem like he would compete. I did get to stand next to him on the judging level tho so i wasnt too bothered. It was a fuking sick day btw.
when pk was born, god sayed "you will be godly at double corks" end of story
no, he is on last years pro model, with this years grafic.
P fucking K!!!!1!!!1!
Freeze was a fun event and certainly a good effort for London's 1st try. PK definately deserved the win too, he was an absolute machine. BUT....
a couple of things left a slightly bad taste in the mouth:
1) £30 for a ticket, wf? (Thats like $60). I'm glad I went, but seriously that is far too much. Maybe if they had advertised it better, more people would have come and it coulda been cheaper. Not to mention having it on at the same time as Metro was retarded.
2) One hit wonders? Each heat EVEN THE FINAL was one hot per rider. All that meant was that every rider basically threw the same trick every round which sucked. Why not have it like freestyle.ch and have at least 1 style trick and one tech trick?
3) The Dumont Effect... I knew this would happen and lo and behold it did. Simon threw the same 10 mute that he has been doing for years every single heat, except in the final where he threw a double front. he couldn't have looked less stoked to be there, hardly ever smiled and looked as if he just wanted the money. On at least 2 occasions his opponent got fucked by THE DUMONT effect. One heat in particular stands out: Dumont threw his stock 10 mute, smooth but the same trick you've seen him throw a million times. Fabio Studer throws the dopest sw cork 7 with the styliest grab i have ever seen, kinda a ridiculously tweked nose-kang and his cork was insane. what's more he basically landed in the crowd and stomped the piss out of it. surprise surprise dumont goes through :
(even with tanner, loubek etc judging...weak)
4) TANNER... where were you man, other than at the top of the fucking event flyer?
K, i really rambled there, but hopefully they change it next year so what was still a cool event can be an awesome one. p.s. the live music sucked balls.
for the past couple years ive always enjoyed watching simon in the winter x games pipe more then T-hall because it always seemed like he was just out killin it for fun and givin the crowd what they want and Tanner seemed like he was cocky guy who was just there for the gold. but now it seems like Simons got an attitude thats all about him and Tanners the one out rippin for himself...idk but thats just my observation
Had to go to this, once in a lifetime oportunity to see these guys in London, in general it was a pretty sick event, with a bit of Richard Permin style tweaking it would have been off the wall. Dumont was pretty lame tho, he obviously didnt want to be there, but once he was there whats wrong with looking stoked and getting the crowd up for it????
will it happen again next year? probably not in Battersea but maybe somewhere else, Hype park would be ideal but seriously expensive.
Anyone know how the snowboarding went down? Battersea must have been a bitch to get to as the Victoria Line was down.
