Only squares ask about 189 hellbent sizing

so im a square



wtf does that even mean

yeha im 6ft and growing and about 135pds and gainging very slowly and im looking at hellbents i checked out the 179 and its like exactly as tall as i am and for some reason seemed short

if i got 179 id mount -2 back if i got 189 id mount center im not charging but i will be hit some gnarly lines and steepsalso some decent size cliff drops while doing a lot of 180 i already have a park ski but ill probabyl do some park on the hellbents just not many rails

so yes i am infact asking the newschoolers community their oppinion.....agian

ian get the 189s. they will be more stable being center mounted and will hold up better at speeds

yep get the 189s. if your 6' and still growing (although you must be a skinny ass mofo to be 135 lbs.) you should go with the 189s, they'd be fine for pow, maybe a little big for park

yea i bet haha. but like you said they might not be very jibby in the park, but if your buying hellbents you shouldn't base it on how jibby they'll be. they'd still do good for landings and such

tell him to have the berg give them a base grind before they mount them. and he needs to get wax on them soon to prep them for the season and to make sure the pores dont close up

^^^^^ehhhhh...wrong answer...just wax/scrape/brush the new sticks a couple time to get da moisture into the bases...if you basegrind that is just going to take material off the ski that doesn't need to be taken off in the first place...base/stonegrinds are really something that you should only have done 1-2 times in a skis life...just my $.02.

have fun though yo uwill not be bummin on on 89...\m/

um, im sorry but you are terribly mistaken.
you can base/stone grind as often as you want, base grinds hardly take anything of the base just for your information and all that a stone does is put the stone imprint onto the ski to help it absorb wax.

who the fuck are you, i keep on seeing you post all this dumb shit shooting everyone down and your information isnt even correct

dont use the newschoolers threads as a chat forum you kids sound like your best friends.  talk on msn or whatever you use. 


and 189 bents are going to feel shorter because of the rocker and ski shorter too.  take a look at your friends ep's and you'll get an idea.  stand on them in socks and look at how short they will feel if your 6'0.  and put some meat on dem bones makes the skiing easier.

the 189 skis like a 189 because if you measure it out it is more like a 194cm or 195cm

I'm 6ft and I  skied the 189s all last year. i normally ski a 181 in the park. Yes the 189s are absolutely huge. 194.5cm, and they feel like it. The length and the width make them very heavy and hard to lug around. With that being said, I do love them. I have never skied the 179s, so I can't compare. But I ski them really hard in powder/crud and love them. If you're okay with the fact that they are big and heavy, you'll like them.

And you need to make sure you have some good boots, so you can actually ski them, not the other way around. Some noodle SPKs with an 85 flex or something are not going to cut it (as I personally found out). I would have to go a whole buckle tighter, and the skis still were hard to control.

I'm sorry all I got from this thread is that you're the same hight as me and way almost 40 pounds less than me and I am by no means overweight....so god damn son hit up that kfc, or mcds or SOMTHIN!

the spk's io have have an 110 flex but yeah i understand t hat the 189s are heavy but i already have a park ski


the only thing park realated ill be doing on them is just hitting jumps and boxes

Basically, if you're 5'7" and 130 you should still go for the 189's. They're a heavy ski, but a heavier ski is better than one with the running length of a skiboard.
