The sony HVR-Z7 comes with a remote transmitter to SD card. also, you should browse around this website

The have alot of cameras that transmit 1000 feet or more. Maybe the transmitter could be used with other cameras somehow. I have the CM 1201 wireless pinhole camera, used for documentary type stuff. That could transmit something like 300 feet.
