call the hill, they should refund it since your buddy is hurt and can't ski, although how long are you out with a buster collar bone?  3 months, that still allows him to ride for a month!

I guess the doc said it could be 4-6 weeks w/o surgery, or 6 months if he got surgery. Problem is that if he doesn't get surgery he will have a huge bone bump by his shoulder, and he could have future problems.
