Phils up 1 game to 0......
Quick observation:
I typically like Joe Buck as a commentator/analyst. That being said, I have been disgusted by his obvious Tampa Bay bias. In his conclusion, he cited the "story of the game" as being "The Phillies stranded 11 runners against Tampa's 3". Granted, stranding 11 is a terrible statistic and this would have certainy been the story of the game....if the Phillies had lost. They didn't lose, they won. The "story of the game" was another gem of a game by Cole Hamels, and Brad Lidge's 50th consecutive save. Give me a break. Through out the course of the game, he clearly minimized the Phillies performance and bolstered the Rays'...despite the fact that the Rays didn't lead the game for even a half inning.
Furthermore, Philly has been shit on this entire post season. Philly hosted the first 2 games of the NLCS, and yet at the beginning of each commercial break we were "treated" to that song "I love L.A.". Manny garnered more press than the entire Phillies club combined during that series. I'm tired of the Phillies historical woes being overlooked in lieu of rehashing the troubled pasts of Boston and the Cubs. The Phils have existed for 126 seasons and they have 1 championship to show for it. We don't hear that. We just hear about Tampa. Fucking Tampa. The franchise that has existed for ten years that no one gives a shit about.
God I'm pissed. I'm so glad we won tonight.
first off Joe Buck is a huge dueche bag! i want to punch him in his mouth so he can never speak again! now that i got that off my chest tim mcarver is a dick too he was sitting in the box wearing his 1980 championship ring (the one he got from the phils) and just following joe bucks lead!!
i hate this national coverage bullshit. i think when teams get to the playoffs we should use thier commentators. if the game is in philly we should listen to harry Kalas and chris wheeler. when in tampa listen to thier anouncers. i been say this all along there is no one involved in baseball i hate more then joe buck (maybe jose reyes) but fuck that i want to listen to Harry K
