Replying to Earbud help

I have the rasta skullcandy buds, they are sick as fuck. Today though the right ear sound kept coming and going. I would have to hold my ipod in a certain position or turn the headphone jack and the sound would still come and go. I am pretty sure their was a wire shortage, but my question is can I fix this or not? If not, I'm gonna be pissed because I bought these like 3 months ago and I bought them for 30 bucks. +karma for a helpful answer.
