Bad idea to get boots online?

What do you think.  If you know your size, know what type of boot you want (like a soft park boot, not a specific model) do you think its a good idea to get them from oh lets say tramdock or is it better to go to a shop because they will know how to fit your boot and its worth the extra 70 bucks or whatever.

After all the "What boot should I get?" threads on here...

Size and flex of a boot are the least of your worries when it comes to bootfitting..anyone can identify those..it's all the other factors which make the difference.

Yes, spend as much as you need to getting boots fitted proeprly by a bootfitter. Boots are one of the only things i would never buy online unless I was renewing the boot i already had and I KNEW it fit me off the shelf.

I would only say its a horrible idea if you had never tried the boots on at all.

Its still a bad idea if you have tried them unless they fit perfectly because most people need some form of adjustment to the boot for a good fit. So any money you save will probably be spent at the bootfitter anyway.

So if you tried them on and they fit perfectly buy them online but in the end its only $70 so its not really worth it.

Dude heres what you should do. Go to your local shop if you can and try the boot you want and find the best size for you. Then just tell them youll think about it. Then you can get them online if you want.

Kudos... that's what I did - tried on Technica Agents in the shop - saved $200 by buying them online (at Al's Ski Barn) and to top it all off I'm going back to the shop to get them fitted - not a horrible idea whatsoever - just play it smart!
