English paper-need help

So i'm writing a paper in my english 1010 class and we get to pick to write about anything we want. I was just hoping that you guys could throw out some bomb ideas for a sweet paper. thanks

Anything, like it doesn't even have to be related to what you've done?  If that's the case you should write about one of your life experiences.  Those are always the easiest and the most interesting to read because they are full of so much detail.  You could take it in many directions too, first person, third person, does it have a moral or does it just make you think...blah, blah, blah the possiblities are endless.

write about something that you are really interested in such as skiing, music, hobbies, etc.

personal memoirs are usually pretty good if you can think of something interesting or humorous. they are the easiest to write because you know all of the details.

the only requirement is that i have to make an argument. I was thinking about writing about legalizing marijuana but I just dont want to write another lame ass paper about it. Another idea was something to do with music effecting people's lives but I just cant find an argument in that so I dont know. any ideas will help.

Thats a bad idea, your teacher will just think you're a pot head and only kids will enjoy reading the paper. But they won't even get anything out of it, they will just laugh at the fact that it says "legalizing weed" in a school paper, take some current issue and try and prove a point. When i had to do this last year for history, i wrote on how the bird flu could become a serious predicament.
