Dynastar Contact Limited's replace old SX;7's

I'm looking for a replacement for my Atomic SX: 7's, and I just came across a sick deal on some 08 Dynastar Contact Limited's for 600 bucks with PX 12 Ti Fluid bindings, plus some shipping n shit.
I also have a pair of Solomon 1080's, the year right before they split the series into the gun and foil and all that.
Is that a good setup? 1080's for pow/flight and Contacts for ripping hardpack? Or are the Contacts trying to cover more ground off piste that I'm already good for with the 1080's?

there are alot of better skis than those you are listing. I really think you could get one new pair of twin tips which will be better at carving, powder and park than your existing 2 pairs.
Twins still carve very well as long as you get the right length. You need to go much longer than you would think. if you are between 130-150lbs get something around a 178cm length eg; untracked.com has 08 armada elrays with look px 12 bindings for $500. this is the first site I went to and Im sure you could get something even cheaper than that. The el-ray will perform better than those dynastars you mention, it will tear up the park and it will work better in pow than the 1080.

What makes you say the elray would perform better than the dynastars?
They're very different in terms of construction and intent.
The contacts also seem to get pretty great reviews, everyone says theyre a lot of fun. You really think the armadas would air better than my 1080s, and blaze piste better than the contacts at the same time?
Sounds too good to be true. Maybe you just really like armada

eh dont count on it. landing switch after falling 30 feet out of the air would require you to know at least a little about skiing especially if you can make it look good. i skiied regular alpine skis for 8 years and i just bought my first pair of twin tips two years ago and if i didnt know anything about skiing before i learned park id never be any good.

Yeah the Contact Limited are a killer carving ski. They're woodcore with a titanal laminate, so they're nice and stable and you can really load them up. Definately fun, snappy skis. And you can't go wrong at that price

just because someone doesnt like directional skis, ad likes to ski switch and spin off jumps, and kill it. doesnt mean they dont know how to ski. maybe your jealous cause you cant do that kind of stuff.
