well ok thats fine that you havent paid attention, i was pissed. my bad for being a bitch, sorry. but really though you should make sure your info is right. and i have nothing against seattle sports teams. matt hasselbeck is from my home town, westwood MA, population 14,000. hes loved around here.
ahhh right now theyre showing the last out of the alcs on espn :(
and aspen, im not keeping score. im not here to start anything right now. im looking forward to the celtics now, not so much the pats lol. not looking back at the sox
isn't it so nice to be able to say that? I'm still not used to it, i'm used to pre-2004, where every season was just another devastating end and we had to reflect on why baseball hated us this year.
I am a Rockies fan, but that's hardly the point. It's not even just baseball. Anytime I see someone mention anything not positive (and no, that is not the same thing as being negative or hateful) about any of the Boston/NE teams in front of one of their fans, they get worked up into a huge frenzy like they have something to prove. To be fair, it's not exclusive to that group by any stretch of the imagination, but I see it more from that fanbase than any other these days. It's a combination of extreme bias, arrogance, and a "can-do-no-wrong" attitude. This is a phenomenon that many people in sports community commonly refer to as an "apologist". Frankly, its annoying as hell and just makes the person look like an ass.
engram is back. but yeah, they have started 9 different recievers, and last week started the 3rd string QB against the pacers (fared better than peyton manning did though, haha)
regardless of how many "bandwagon" fans there are for the rays now, you have to look at what they did. like are you fucking kidding me? going from last in the entire league just last year, to winning the toughest division in the league. a few years ago they popped champagne after winning their 70th game of the season, the most in their 10 year existence.
like i'm a diehard yankees fan, and halfway through the season, i was rooting rays all the way. those kids are only a few years older than me and they're ballin' fucking outrageous. no one hit above .300 this year. pena and longoria were the only two to hit more than 20 homeruns. and who the fuck is longoria? and who the fuck is david price? these kids come out of no where to dominate veteran players. and bj fucking upton? 9 homeruns all year? 7 in the playoffs so far? no fucking way. now i'm not saying the sox were an amazing team this year, but you have to give credit to these kids. and maybe its just what their team needs to kickstart their organization. and as much as i like the phillies, i'm looking for the rays to pull off the most improbable season in the history of baseball.
alright, i can agree with you on that. I agree that many boston fans are like this. i am too, maybe just how i was raised. after thinking about it i do have to agree that boston fans do get worked up but hey i still love boston sports. I am sorry about what i said in my first post.
here is the deal with rays fans. first they are a new team (10 years is new in baseball standards) they came into the league with the diamond backs. the diamond backs have a WS win and now a pretty established fan base. this is what the rays need to establish a fan base. not only are they new but they are in tampa. no one is from tampa they are all pretty much transplants that have thier own teams from where ever they are from. so yes this year they are bandwagon on the wins but i beleive a lot of the will stick with the team after this year and tampa can finnaly start establishing a fan base. much like what happened in arizona after they won it all.
True story. I'm a twins fan but have roots in Tampa so I have followed them since the beginning. I'm not a die hard fan but I'm definitely pulling for them. It's fun to watch a $40mil payroll team roll a $200 mil team.
