well nowadays a lot of people who are hiring will look for dirt on you on the internet before hiring you. fucked up shit i know, but it's true. that's why my privacy settings are to the max.
that's the only reason i can see for being sketched out by that stuff.

At my old school, they checked people's facebook and a few people got in trouble.

if you join a schools network, the network admin can see your profile and all your pics so its not a good idea

yea i dont put pics up of me being dumb anywyas, but im also not on any network. i started out on my high schools network and added all my friends etc. but now people have to add me if they wanna look at my profile and shit. cuz kids at my school got in trouble cuz some teacher at school or something made an account joined the schools network and creeped peoples pics.

Dont post anything incriminating and if your friends post a pic with you in it ask them to take it down if if they dont next time they sleep passout take an embarasing pic and post it untill they take yours down... or curbstomp them either way

Colleges now look for anything bad on facebook when your applying. So if you have to fill out a self form. If you have bad shit on there even if it's deleted. When they ask for do you have myspace, facebook ect. Say no.

Businesses can't view any facebook no matter what. Not to mention that there is an immediate issue with privacy legislation, but if I applied for a job with a company based in the USA, they can't see my profile because there are no common networks. Even Australian businesses can't see me unless they are a part of my university network

They aren't screwing you, the information is made public the moment you allow it to be. If you don't want people or companies seeing shit that is controversial, then don't put it up there in the first place.

In reality, large firms are the ones with the resources and budgets to warrant having their HR department look into things such as facebook for job candidates. There is nothing wrong with social networking as far as employment goes, but I strongly believe that if you have a solid chance at working for one of the large companies that are likely to investigate things like this, then you would generally be a person that is smart enough not to have controversial content on your profile in the first place.

My senior year of high school I was told to take off all my drinking and smoking pictures from MySpace by the assistant principle. Bitch. But I don't post that shit up anymore anyway.
