almost the same as the invaders but firmer flex for better stability when hitting jumps or skiing all mountain
it also has a wider surface area im pretty sure

yeah anthems are a bit stiffer and wider so they are much better for jumps

The invaders are really for rail. Kickers too but a little bit soft..

The anthems are for evrything like kick rail and a little bit BC

uhhh same here, and the antems are alot stiffer. line even says they are stiffer.

i have invaders and they are super sick and super buttery. i've ridden my friends anthems and they are prety much the same but feel a little stiffer. they feel more stable on jumps though

anthems are fully semetrical so not at all for BC^. 93 mm waist but pretty damn flexy too.  invaders are a jib specific ski so for a 100 percent park rider i would suggest

I figure there is no point in starting another Anthem thread so hopefully some people will see this so I don't have to make another....  and I have been searching.

I am looking into buying some Anthems, my question in I am 6 feet, 195 lbs.  Would a 178 ski be to small as this is a softer park ski or would I be okay?  Should I be looking at other options?  If so name your picks. 

All the searching I have done yields results of people 5'4-5'10 weighing 130-165 and they are all recommended the 178s.  Which is why I wonder if they are to small for me.

I currently have a set of Armada ARV 185s and they work for pretty much everywhere even when it gets a little deep.  I just want something for more park and cruising.  Nope, not a guy who hits rediculous booters or down flat down flat down flat uber rails.  Just looking for something to try some new shit with.

i am pretty close to your size. roughly the same height and about 15 pounds lighter. i have the anthems and i really like them for park. i skied them in keystone's park everyday last winter and they were great. i was really sketched out about how soft they were but i hit the big line and didn't wash out nearly as much as i had expected. if you're trying to primarily hit big jumps and go fast, however, i would recommend something like the chronic or the blend, both of which are a good bit stiffer than the anthem. but if you're looking to play around in the park and you're going to keep your amplitude below an 11, then the 178 anthem would be a fun ski for you.

vaders are 85.

i would invaders personally. they are the best freesyle ski in my opinion.

the anthem is just a bigger invader. maybe if you wanna ski a lil pow with them which is totally do able by the way

Thanks for the response.  + Karma for you my friend.

I have no intentions of going big.  Hell, I started skiing last season at age 25 and can handle double blacks, but i have little to no park skills.  Small 180s is about it.  So maybe this ski in the 178 would be a good choice. I will look into the blend and Chronic as well.

Anyone else have opinions?

^ i'm a few inches smaller that you but weigh about the same and i found my anthems to be a super fun ski. at my weight i didnt felt that they were noodley soft (just nice and soft), and they surprised me at how they handled for allmt cruising. i took a few small hits on them and they didn't dissapoint, never whashed out on me or anything like that. even used them on a pow day and they still performed! don't worry about the soft flex pattern but if you're really into stiff park skis then theres always the chronic. i'd say if you're using them to start doing some new shit and you if you're just lookin for a fun, light, symetrical ski then you should def pick up a pair, great ski for sure.

Thanks for the info.  I figure I will have my ARV's for pow days and am looking at the Anthems for more random fun in the park.

that probably depends alot more on how sharp the edges are than the ski itself

ice coast ftw!!! keep the edges nice, and u should be fine on either. just remember, invaders are a bit more flexy.

Get the Anthems.  Everyone I know that rode those here last year loved them.  I don't think they will be too soft at all.

i rode them in face shot conditions (because they were the only pair i had) and i was quite suprised for how good they were. not a pow ski by any means your going to have to lean, but still pretty good

im about 5'6-5'7 and i have the anthem in a 178. everybody here says that that will be wayy to big but before i did it i checked it out with a ton of shops, reps, and a few well known skiers. The anthem is mad soft and light so thats good, it also has a true center mount. But you can also always get away with a smaller park ski, so if they have bigger (which i odnt think they do) then go for it, if not you wil be fine.

the anthems simply have a wider base, which changes the flex of the ski, and in this case makes it stiffer
