Autoplaying video advertisement on the homepage?

Everytime i go to the home page on NS i get this 15 second video commerical that plays in the 'video of the week' section. Any way to kill this autoplaying advertisement? Its annoying as hell.

oh god yes that's killing me. i go on and there's a 15 second ad video before the actual vid starts and it's a bunch of ugly ass girls singing about wearing purple and it's really loud, the yahoo purple campaign, maybe drop them as an advertiser

i disagree. it's probably the stupidest thing i've ever heard of, a campaign to get people to start wearing purple. who comes up with this shit? if you're not already wearing purple, that's your problem, you don't need some stupid internet ads to tell you to buy purple shoes and purple shirts and all manner of purple shit.
