Lizzies/Bacons/Rories/Live Life 2s/Zeros

 Sorry for yet another help-me-choose-my new-fat-skis-thread, but I haven't seen these five compared before.  I ski the east, but I'm set on a pair of fatties, so please don't remind me how little snow we get.  I'm 135 lbs., 5'10", and plan to use these as my every day ski.  I have a pair of karmas that Iill make my urban ski, but I still want to use these new skis in the park a lot.  I have heard the most about pollard's line skis, but I have heard that lizzies sink in deeper snow, and at only 172, they may be short for me.  I wonder how much stiffer the Bacons are, and whether I can still slide rails on them/ butter them?  The ninthward rory looks like a good size at 178, but what is their flex like?  And I've heard of problems with their durability, but they just changed factories also.  Surface live life 2's look fun, but I don't really want a rockered ski yet.  And the Nordica zeros are a new addition to the list.  Even though they are skinnier, they are symmetrical, and I might even center mount them.  Lines I can get through most shops, but what about the indie ski companies? Anyone know of a good ec store, or should I order online?  Thanks for your feedback.

i would say go for the bacons. if you want a fatter ski, the zeros will probly be to skinny, more of a all around having only one ski type of ski. i have heard that surface cores are real soft and that you would be better off putting you bindings on a piece of cardboard. lizzies would be fun for fooling around, more backcountry jibbing than charging. hope that helps

last years LL2 are on geartrade.com i believe for 375 and they dont have rocker

Are the surfaces really that poor in durability? Anyone agree?  I certainly don't want a binding to rip out.  And what about the rories?

im not sure about the rories, but i think that ninthwards are made in the elan factory so they should be good. searchbar for surface and there are threads about pull outs in the surface skis because the cores are real soft

new construction this year.  new factory.

and besides, the people that were having problem with rip outs were using fks bindings.

Thanks, but I've done quite a bit of research, and feel confident that I've investigated just about any ski in this category.  If you must suggest something other than on my list, please give reasons.  Leaning to sfb's right now.

Bacons are still super soft, so no worries there. and as said last years live life twos arent rocked. i too would shy away from the zeroes, i dont think thats really what your looking for. and rories, i dont know shit about

Who DOES know something about 9ward rories?  I'm getting close to buying bacons now, but can I use a 110 mm. brake for a 115 mm. ski  instead of going all the way to a 132 mm.?  Can I bend it a bit?

yes, you can bend your brakes 5mm, that is 3mm on either side, and if you havent noticed mm are very small
