your retarded. do you really want someone who is going to go to war with every country that moves? and look at palin, she doesnt know what foreign policy is. im at 17 year old kid and i had more international travel than she did up till last year. and she is going to be talking to so many other cultures. the world will hate us more than they do.

Ya I know, they are all different. The polls mean little to nothing to me since they are all so different. Besides, this isn't really news since it has been like this for the last month...

Neither does Obama and he's running for president...not vice president.

I'm actually less worried about Obama now that this whole economic mess is going down - with that bailout, there's just not enough money for him to do the things I disagreed with (universal healthcare and whatnot). And as far as foreign policy goes, he has his head on straighter than McCain, Palin, and Biden put together. (I'm still not a fan of Biden).

aspen as cool as you are, DON'T compare Obama to Palin. Obama is 50x smarter than Palin ever can compare. just the thought of giving that woman some kind of power in our country irks me. Palin was the mayor of the meth capitol of the USA 2 years ago (correct me if i'm wrong) and Obama actually has some good education under his belt aka Harvard, and I think he was the editor of the harvard law review, no big deal, maybe the first black guy to do it too so maybe that was significant, you tell me. What has Sarah Palin done besides turn on young American boys like myself? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with her life in comparison to Obama.

Either way I have Chilean and EU passports. That's my plan B.
I try to look at it optimistically. Its only once the country's been down in the toilet that people will finally wake the fuck up, and see through the farce that is leftist politics. The tragedy of the commons.

And if Obama gets in, it'll lessen our tolerance of these fake Republicans like McCain and all the Rinos in Congress.

You could say the exact same thing when comparing McCain to Obama. If you want to compare, compare those who are running for the same office.

goddamnit people, obamas health care plan is not completely universal healthcare. You still get to pick your own doctor and its only for people who make below 250000 a year, to me this sounds legit. Doctors will still be able to get the money they want from rich people and poor people will finally have health care, and just because he was once friends with a terrorist (who wasnt a terrorist at the time) doesnt make him a terrorist. I would say that my views are mostly republican, but i think obama will make a much better president than mccain, and remember with mccain comes palin...

how can you say that? a poll is completely biased to what the media wants it to say. even if they dont want to be biased, the way they word a question easily contributes to the answers that they recieve. the only reason people conduct polls is to make money. studies show more people buy magazines and newspapers when polls are conducted, as well as making money off other things while polls are conducted. not to mention, that over 25% of voters dont decide who they are going to vote for until the last week of the election.
if any of you seriously believe polls, especially political ones like this where both candidates are so close, you need to learn a serious lesson on polls, although im sure its mostly the younger ns that believes everything they read...thomas dewey beat truman in 1948 the day before the election, but when the votes came in, polls were wrong by 10-20%. polls should be looked at as a very gerenal guideline. with the election as close as it is right now, polls dont mean anything.

haha uhhhh except its not. Real Clear Politics actually does polling, along with Gallup and Rasmussen. CBS is a broadcasting company that spins numbers however they like.

Except that each individual poll is pretty much meaningless and RCP allows you to look at a large spread of polls over time, which is what is actually meaningful.

So why make 35,000 a year and have to pay your own health care? I can barely even pick my own fucking doctor, why should someone making less than 25,000?
And Bill Ayers, no matter how you want to spin it, is still the scum of the Earth. What a fucking jack ass that guy is. Bill Ayers should be locked up, the only reason he isn't is because his rich father bailed him out with the best lawyer money could buy. Ironic how Bill Ayers says we should kill the rich and murder our parents. He's now simply taken his radical views from terrorism to education, which is arguable more dangerous.
My grandfather was good friends with Thomas Ayers (father of bill), up until he died around a year ago. Thomas Ayers actually helped my uncle get into Northwestern. I feel bad for the guy though, I couldn't imagine having a worse son.

wait, so everyone making below 250,000 gets health care. That is universal health care.
Anyone making above 250,000 will get private insurance to private clinics that don't suck. Actually I'd be willing to bet anyone making over 100k would buy private insurance.

It sounds real nice, but mark my words, it will by a dismal failure. Especially the part about replacing all drugs with generics, it will destroy the pharmaceutical industry.

woah woah woah woah.... that sounds like one of the absolute dumbest ideas i have ever heard.
So if im getting that right, people who make over 250 gs a year have to pay for their healthcare and it doesnt change for them... but at the same time they are paying for everyone elses healthcare threw taxes.... ahhh brilliant idea!!!! Lets just fuck over all the people who worked their asses off to make a living in this country (dont get me wrong a lot of people like work their asses off and dont make that much).
oh i make under 30k per year btw.
Universal healthcare is the most bs thing in the world... after the bail out i bet people in states like california where income tax is high will be paying over 50% after that. doesnt sound fun.
oh and uhh glad to know everyone listens to the liberal media and doesnt think theres any bias in it... i guess its just teh cool thing to be an obama fan.
Biden will ruin obamas chance. He doesnt even fucking know when FDR was elected and thought there was public tv in 1929. Ha hes just an ignorant douche. If obama didnt pick him i would have wayyy more respect for obama then i do.

thank you. polls are so worthless (for the most part). and if people actual believe the super biases CBS's 14 point lead, i feel bad for them. i dont know how they forged that figure. CBS leans left so what do you think the poll would say?

thats because mccain has lived twice as long...mccain wasn't editor of the harvard law review and didn't break the color barrier for SHIT. McCain has been in the game a very long time and was a good soldier and is a badass, not taking that away from him I just don't think he is fit to run this country, i dont want to fuck with another bush again which is what mccain essentially is. he's fucked this place up so much within the last 8 years.
You can't convince me otherwise.

We already pay over 50% haha
Its tragic the burden our socialist government puts on the professional class. That's what these taxes should be called, not a tax on the wealthy class, they're a tax on the professional class.

we need to destroy the pharmaceutical industry. they pour a ridiculous amount of money into politics, and its insane how much money they make.

being editor of the harvard law review doesn't really mean shit. I'm tired of this OMG HARVARD! as if its the greatest achievement in the world. If his only achievement is to have been an editor on the hlr then thats quite a thin resume.
If Obama was white he would just be another intellectual middle class nobody. Don't talk to be about the color barrier. He got a free ride through college and university, despite his fuck ups, because of his color. His financial records should be up for everyone to see just to prove this.
I'm not trying to convince anyone, just putting my opinion between the bandwagoning obama lovers.

goodbye medical progress, it seems a ridiculous number of you fail to understand the basic tenets of how a successful business functions.

i also agree, well of course not replacing all the drugs with generic ones.
drug companies make so much money its pathetic. people keep talking about gas companies making record amounts of money, dont tell me the medical profession is not in the same boat. and i know they have R&D costs (of course!) but the costs are extremely ridiculous.
sorry to get off topic

theres a difference between medial progress, and the absurd amount of corruption and money in the pharmaceutical industry. not to mention the drugs pushed through the fda without ever being fully paid for

First of all Ayers did what he did when Obama was 8. They were a ton of crazy radical people at the time who grew up and made normal lives. People change.
Also if were gonna bring up sketchy relationships
McCain and the keating 5.
McCain who called Gordon Libby, a man involved in the watergate scandal "an old friend" and said "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family,". This seems to be a far more significant relationship than serving on the same board as someone.
Or Robert Asher, a convicted felon that joined his campaign.
The list goes on...

then the problem here is yet again government corruption, what else is new.
The big pharmaceutical companies develop the drugs that we need. If they have all their profits stolen by generics, then what incentive is there to produce new drugs? Think of it like a patent or copyright protection.

the way i feel is that many americans, when push comes to shove, will not be able to vote for a black man. they can say all they want but there is definitely a certain amount of underlying racism that will prevent many people from checking a black man's name on the ballot and they might not even know that. just my $0.02, disagree if you want but i do feel that to a certain extent it is the case

I'm not defending McCain's relationships, both candidates are guilty of having bad associations.
However, don't try and argue with me that Bill Ayers is anything but the scum of the Earth that he is. Instead why don't you just admit that Obama's relationship with that asshole is sketch, and that its a mistake that Obama made, rather than trying to justify the relationship.

Wait so you're ok with pharmaceuticals exploiting a human need for health?
Why should someones health be subjugated to the condition of their wallet. What if you're ability to get health care depended upon your ability to translate Chinese poetry.
Perhaps we don't really need Viagra, Lipitor or any of the other drugs you say we 'need'
When you let money get in the way of health you'll get products that don't cure you of anything, rather they make it so you are dependent on the drug for survival. That's fucked up. I'd rather let nature take its course, than to allow a select few individuals exploit the majority of us, simply for the greed of money.

Here's an idea. Since you're so interested in living in a country where everyone thinks the same way you do, why don't you move to the south, where everyone's ultraconservative? Then you could all form some sort of unified movement to secede from the US and form your own right-wing confed- ... oh.

Can you please expand on that?
Because from what little you have said I get the impression you think the health care in my country is shitty, which you personally would not know since you dont live here.
Do you believe that the American healthcare system serves the people better than that of Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Scandinavia, as well as all of western europe?
Or do you believe that it just isn't right for America?

so basically what your trying to say is we shouldnt vote for obama cuz of his relationship with ayers, but we can vote for mccain regardless of his countless questionable friends? sounds like a double standard there.
As for him being the scum of the earth. A) People change. Hes gotten a ton of stuff done for the city of chicagos public school system. He was fighting things like the idiocy that is the no child left behind act. (Ask any teacher in a public school ANYWHERE and they will tell you how dumb it is.)
B) They were on the same board together. Its not like they were playing golf on weekends and having dinner together. Its not like some sort of buddy buddy relationship.
