my siver jacket from past seasons has gotten small/ not water proof and i got a buddy that can proform some cheap north face gear but ive never had any and i dont know what to expect. just need soem insight like how well is it made? does it fit right? any shit like that will help
i got north face gear.
if ur wondrin wat the fit is like on the park fit it is HUGE.
but if i were u and had a choice i would prolly buy the high end stuff because it seems now on the lower end stuff they are just slappin the popular name on a cheap jacket and markin the price way up.
If you want northface that compares to a $300 jacket in other brands, you pay $500 for the TNF one. They fucked up all their shit beacuse of those damn cunts with the ugg(ly) boots and the fuckin TNF black fleeces.
It's not just North Face. Everyone that buys into gear for looks/style alone is guilty of the lack of quality outerwear. What happened to the functionality of outerwear?? No one cares that they spend $300 of their parents/their own money to get a jacket that looks cool to them but gets wet instantly? Buy gear that is worth it for function and style, not the crap that gets attention from people on the lift. Everyone seems so much more tuned in to buying what looks cool (which is 90% garbage) than what is actually worth spending money on.
On a somewhat related note, I still have a North Face 3 layer Gore Tex Mountain Guide Jacket and Pants hanging out in my closet. Not quite the baggy fit that most outerwear comes in today, but it will outperform most of the gear on the market. Not bad for a 10 year old suit.
Anything less than 20K Waterproofing and 20K breathability is a waste of fucking money, personally, its Gore Tex or nothing.
Actually the reason why TNF's quality sucks for the most part was when they were bought out by VF their quality went down the drain quick. They just put out products to please the non-outdoors consumer and to sell mass quantity. Gore Tex, meh, it's fine for an old technology, but typically bloated on ratings as well as still thriving on outdated PTFE style waterproofing.
