i don't think those statements were out of fear for the minister and bride's lives, i think that is just generally a terrible thing to have happen at your wedding.

fist of all, you see those stylin shades the preachers wearing? haha, and secondly why were they on a platform above a pool? why is that even somthing you want to do at your wedding? i woulda seen that coming a mile away.
