Help Me Figure Out Paypal..

So I have finally caved, and now I need to use pay-pal to buy my next pair of skis.

I'm Canadian, so Pay-pal isn't 100% clear on activation for me, I was wondering if anyone could help me clear up some problems I've been having.

Firstly, I am an 18 year old university student. I don't have access to a credit card yet, and I probably won't see one for quite some time. I don't even have a chequing account, so I'm completely unsure of how I can get all the information needed to activate my Pay-Pal account. Let alone how I will transfer the cash I need for the purchase.

Secondly, since I am in Canada and all my money is in Canadian dollars and the seller is American - How do I go about converting the money from CAD to USD?

I am a complete n00b to Pay-Pal so any guidance or steps would be hugely appreciated.

Why don't you try using the "HELP" section of Paypal instead of asking NS???

i dont know how canada's paypal is different (if it is), but if you don't have access to a credit card (like me), link your paypal account to your bank account.  you should be able to figure that out from the main page, the whole process is very simple, just know your bank account number and all that stuff. good luck

i get my dad to do it and then i pay him back. im pretty sure you need to have a credit card

Jebus, the Help function is largely unhelpful for my current situation unforunately. I've tried going down to the bank and getting all the information, but i'm still not totally sure whats needed.
