How do you screw the pvc pipes to the wood to make a box?

I am making a box with wood and pvc pipes and I need help to find out how to get the pvc pipes on to the wood.

drill up through the pipe from the wood under the pipe then fasten the pipe down with a bolt

That's the best way, cause then the part that you slide is completely smooth with no holes or anything.

dont drill up through the wood into the pvc, because pvc cracks very easily and it is not if it is going to crack, but when.
if you drill up, when the pvc cracks your bases will hit the screws and it will ruin them
the best way is to drill a hole just large enough to fit the screw in, cock it to the side a little bit, and screw down into the wood through the pvc

just drill up through the wood into the bottom of the pvc that is laying on the wood. do that like every ft and it works like a charm. thats what i did
