Replying to Ski Variation
Being from Baltimore, I get pretty lame seasons year after year. Its sad to not be able to ski when snow isnt around, which is most of the year for me. So for the past 4 months, I have been developing a variation of a freestyle ski that is used for riding pavement. At the moment I have a good prototype goin: a 4 ft long, 4 inch wide compressed and fiberglassed ski bent to twin tip shape. It has mini skateboard trucks in the back for turning and a single wheel in the front. For now I just put some old bindings on them and wear my boots when riding but in the future I want something simpler and lighter. I also have grind plates on them for sliding rails (and they have plenty of room for sliding rails). For the fact that im using pretty low- quality materials, they work surprisingly well. You can pretty much do any freestyle function on them like rails, switch riding, and potentially ramps and pipe. Theyre definately different from roller blading and any other street ski because they allow you to do stuff that is directly related to newschool skiing. I want the newschooler community to grow and get a fun product out there where kids can practice any where and any time while still being around freeskiing. So now I ask your help in growing my idea. I am ready to file for a patent but I need to know how to market this and to what companies. If youve got any comments, interests, or connections, let me know.
