per xbox you should get about 6 free one month gold accounts, just make a silver account through the dashboard and when you get to the billing stage say keep silver and then it should come up with a one month gold eligibility or at the keep silver stage i cant remember.

i tried to cheat it but once you're gold you can't demote yourself, you have to stay up and pay for gold
i have a 24 hour trial i got from gears, kinda useless
