SFB's vs ARV's

Hey guys im looking for some insight and opinions. I am looking at buying a new set of skis for the upcoming year and im really lookin into these two set of skis. I am a pretty good skier and will definatly push a bit. With that being said im about 6'1" and about 180ish so im not a tiny guy by any means. I would say most of my reasoning between these two are me goin out west and wanting a fatter ski for the pow but still having a good ski on the groomers. But other then that ill be riding my dumonts in the park and on some of the groomers too. If there are any other questions you have ill answer them as soon as i can because im looking for peoples opinion. Im really leaning towards the bacons but the ARV's are an option too. THey're not even similiar skis, the SFB's are 20mm wider than the ARV's. Bacons are a pow ski and ARV's are an all mountain park ski.

i know where your coming from but the radius is similar, and eric pollard designed the bacons as an all mountain ski that will hold its own everywhere

bacons over the arvs for sure, but i bet you could do even better than bacons

4frnt vcts... wow, i find myself recommending these alot.
surface live life or live life 2 (depending on if you want full 3 stage rocker [on the 2s] or just early rise in the tips. if you want a surface ski without rocker check out the ltd artist models... both are the same with a different flex. as far as i know surface is a pretty core company...
sfbs should also do the trick but for what your looking for thats about as fat as i'd go
arvs are not similar at all to the sfbs and you may find some overlap between those and the dumonts.

Does anyone have any info or insight on the k2 ObSethed ski? this seems like it could be more comparable to SFB's

I have the 179 obsethed and skied it all summer in NZ were conditions vary from very firm to half a foot of pow. A great all mountain ski, not too great switch though cos of the directional sidecut. I am 30lbs less than you.I think the 189 is a much bigger ski, stiffer, beefier sidewall and you would probably overpower the 179 easily. Though having said this Frank Raymond skis it in Japan and he's around your size so maybe not? (Level 1 turbo)..............

A 185 ARV will not keep you afloat  though.  I think  you  should really  rule this one out .
 
Consider the VCT from 4frnt,  the new Line blend the new JJ from armada and the Bacon.

WRONG!!
Bacons are an all around ski.  check the sidecut, they can go anywere and be nimble due to the sidecut.  I rode them all last year, trust me man.  They don't float as well as a 115 waisted ski should...BUT they WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than make up for that with their performance on any other type of snow, even park.

Get Bacons if you don't mind a soft ski.  They don't feel like they are that big (waisted).
