Buttering??

I got a pair of k2 fujatives a year ago.  I've skied em a few times.  they're 169 cm.  I have tried buttering them but they barely do it at all.  Is the ski too short (im 6 2)  or do i need to break them in more or am i just bad :)   I'm looking into getting longer skis anyways, would that help with buttering?

first of all, those are way too short for you. also, the longer and softer a ski is the easier it is to butter, so an ep pro will butter way better than a fujative. just look for a good balance in flex vs stability, check out reno rockers, the rocker will be nice for buttering

Anthems will be short too due to being symmetrical.
I'm 5'9 150 and I ride 178 Anthems and I could even go bigger for a symmetrical ski.

if you cant butter fugitives, at any length, you might as well start snowblading.

you should be able to butter them like no other. im 5"6' 130 and i can butter 169's so they should be complete noodles for you.

you need a 180 + ski first of all. I'm 6 and i won't consider anything shorter. Also, the urban punx are great for buttering and come in a 184 length. I highly recommend these to you you'll have a great time. The reno rockers will also butter quite well but I'm not sure that you'd want to go with them as your only park ski just yet. Lastly, most Line park skis butter quite well and have there fancy butter zone technology but most of their skis will be to short for you IMO.

i wouldnt recommend buttering them, wax works far better.

I'm 6'2" as well and I just have the hardest time buttering them..here see for yourself

deff go with a ski that is 180 plus... im 5' 9" and ski a pair of t-halls...
advantages of skiing a bigger ski
1 less impact on landings
2 the longer the faster they ski
3 it looks better if u ski a longer ski than shorter one (but not too long)
just look at all the pros their ski s are taller than they are
