Replying to ARV too much for Minnesota?
I made a thread earlier asking for ski suggestions, and I got narrowed down to the ARV or the Volkl Walls. I'm 26, been skiing park since 1996. I'm around 5'8", only 140 lbs, so I'm not a big guy. I'll be using the skis for about maybe 30% park riding, the rest all mount (All midwest MOUTAIN)
Is the ARV going to be too wide/big for Minnesota/Wisconsin runs? Is it overkill? I owned a pair of 1080s before this, and I hated them. They felt too small and squirly. I owned an original pair of Pocket Rockets, and they were my favorite ski, so this is why I'm leaning towards the ARVs. But I used those PRs when I lived in Oregon and CO, I never tried them in the Midwest.
But I've never skied an Armada ski before either, and I won't have a chance to demo these. How do skis like the ARV perform in the midwest? I'll probably only use them out west once or twice, so it will be almost all midwest skiing. Any suggestions?
