First, the vitals.
5'11, 145 lbs
Midwest hills
85% park, 15% everything else
I'm not going huge on jumps, nothing over 40 feet
I love rails, most of my park skiing happens here
In the past I've had a pair of 06/07 Rossi Scratch FS WRS mounted 2cm back. I like them, but I think they are a little too stiff. Ideally, I want a softer, more playful ski.
I've been really intrigued by the Invader, but I'm not sure they'll hold up on the rails. I realize they are super cheap, but I really don't want to deal with all the warranty nonesense if I don't have too. If they have improved the quality great.
Other skis which have peaked my interest are the T-Hall, AR6, and Suspect. I think these will be on the stiff side based on what I've read, but I've never ridden of flexed them so I don't know how they would compare to the skis I've ridden.
I'm sure there are some other options as well, so let me know what you think.
Thank You!

you're fired.
suspects are on the medium-soft side. not a bad choice. t-halls are gonna be softer than ar6s (im pretty sure) and invaders wouldnt be bad at all. they do take a beating even tho its a cheaper ski. in years past id say stay away from invaders, but the quality has gone up huge.
your best bet... atomic punx. vertical sidewall/sandwich construction gives u awesome durabilty, but still a soft flexing ski with a lot of pop.

invaders arent a bad chioce quality has improved. You just got to decide if you want to go up in price to the punx are ar6 probaly two good choices for you are the cheaper invader.

Suspects or Dumonts will be good on rails because of the new edge armor
anthems will probably work as well
i heard that the t-hall also has a similar flex pattern to the invaders with the whole butter zones thing.
you have many options!

i have invaders and AR6's. To me, i think you should get the AR6. Both of these can take a beating but the AR6 will give you the stiffness you want and if you strap on some jesters or griffons, they'll be light as fuck. My AR6's with jesters are remarkably lighter than my invaders with p10's.

My only concern with the AR6 is that it will be too stiff. How would you say it compares to the Rossi Scratch FS? This time around I really want a soft, playful ski, but I don't want to sacrifice durability. I'm definitely leaning towards the Urban Punx at this point.

if you want soft and playful then the invader or anthem will do the job and take a hell of a beating doing it. i've had falls where i thought my invaders were gonna snap for sure, but no problems.

the armada alpha 1 looks pretty sick
This is the first park ski that incorporates the extended tip and tail profile of powder skis, which does two things. First, it dramatically enhances the ski's ability to butter jumps and press rails and boxes. Second, it allows a hardcore park ski to perform better in softer snow than ever before.

chronics man. just got a pair of 04-05 used a few times for 100, and I've owned the 05-06 and 06-07. Love them all.

the invaders are super fun and playful. their construction has gotten better but line still doesn't make the longest lasting skis. not that i'm dissing because i have lines and they are sick but they just don't last as long. if you are looking for a softer flexing ski from a different company- and i'm going off what you listed- i would say go with the t-halls. they have the soft tip and tail that you can play with but they are also stiff enough to ride all mountain and hit some decent sized jumps for the size of kid you are.

This is pretty much what I was thinking as well. I recently watched the T-Hall product video on armadaskis.com though, and they say they stiffened them up from past years, which makes me hesitant to get them. All in all, the skis I'm still considering are the Suspects, thalls, and from what I've seen so far, I think the frontrunners are the Urban Punx. I wish I could find out how soft the suspects are, I haven't been able to find much of a comparison to other skis.

yeah i don't think that they made them too stiff though. they definately still feel like they will have play in them for butters and stuff. i think that it was a good improvement that has made them a better all around park ski

i like how this has become a throw out your favorite park ski thread.
here is the to consider list...
armada t-hall (softer version of the ar6)
line invader and anthem (same ski, both soft, anthem is wider)
salomon suspect
atomic punx (which i still think are gonna ski the best/hold up the best of the group)
you could think about k2 silencers but i dont think thats the route you want to go (cheap and crappy)
thats gonna be the bulk of your soft, jiibby park skis besides some of the boutique brands

Thanks a ton for your input man. I've done a bit of researching, and I think the Urban Punx are the way to go. Seem to be quite soft, yet durable and versatile.

yeah the ar6s are definately not stiff,
but if you still have troubles finding a ski the go to freeskier.com and go to the 08/09 buyers guide.

By most flexy ski ever you mean stiffer than a GS ski on vaigra? Those skis are sooooooo sooo stiff.

Grow a little then. Everyone that says they are stiff has either never skied them or weighs less than 100 lbs. They are really not that stiff. My lib's are softer than my scratch bc's.

You want urban punx. I've ridden them all last season, I also am mostly on rails and I'm telling you these are what you want.
All times are Eastern (-5)
