The other day I took a walk in the woods in VT because I needed to get out of the house (I had been doing homework all weekend) and while walking around in the woods I realized just how fortunate I am to do what I do, and be who I am, and live where I live. I admit it, I take a lot of shit for granted but I try to appreciate what I have. I mean think about it, we all ski, and that's what we love to do. Just the fact that I can do that is enough to make me happy. Don't get me wrong, I love my material possessions just as much as anybody else. There are so many people who struggle just to put food on their plate. I'm not the most politically active kid out there, but whenever my school does a charity or something I pitch in. Recently my school funded a school in Cambodia, which I am proud to say I donated money, I'm not gonna say exactly how much because that kinda defeats the purpose. The fact that our school made a difference makes me realize that things can be done to help people in need. That's not really my main point I guess, but it's still something to think about.
Back to my walk in the woods. It was amazing, it was peak foliage and leaves were falling everywhere, and it was nice and brisk. Everything seemed surreal.
So my advice to you is if you can take a walk through the forest, or maybe a park if that's the closest thing you have. Just appreciate the beauty of it. Just think of how amazing it is that this is all here. I don't care if you're atheist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or anything. whatever you believe how things came to be, just appreciate it. If you can try to open your mind to other views. Maybe if you don't believe in god, think to yourself, wow, what if a god really did make this? Or maybe you'd think, what if things really did evolve to become like this.
Anyway, that's my piece (or peace)
Have a nice day.
