Yea everybody wants to hate on a ski event that's going to be put on in a remote location, far away from natural snow. I'd have to agree, how many people are actually going to attend the event in LA first off? Secondly, how many of those people are going to come away saying "gee I'd really like to do some twintip skiing". I cannot see enough positives to go through all the trouble, expense, and most importantly resources to make this event happen. You don't see skaters trying to setup a vertramp at the base of your mt. If Jon wants to do something to get noticed as being cool, innovative, and different put it down bigger in the mountains. Nuff said.
