Kris Ostness Resets the Bar Again

44 Days is clearly the result of several key things - incredibly talented skiers and filmers/production crews who are allowed to work together with freedom to the best of their abilities. The final result is an incredible film. I've never seen any of those angles before. I also noticed the skiers did sick tricks on creative features - rather than just doing any trick on a really creative feature - like in most movies. Well done!

44days was sick. The filming was rediculous and is something every filmer should look up to.

Who else hear thought Hunting Yeti didn't live up to the hype? 44 Days exceeded my expectations for sure, but damn I thought HY sucked.

errrrrr. Good skiing, but boooooooooooooooooooring.
Yawn.
Considering how late 44 days was, and how much hype there was for a small team movie/extended edit, I was let down. Editing was meh, nothing special, repeat shots, and the music although good, was uninteresting. Maybe tbc was it for this guy.

think what you may, I think 44days stood up to TBC and did it well. kris came out with some sick angles such as birds eye powder and jossi's private pipe hits, that I hadnt seen before. And the editing in the intro between the jumbo screen and the camera footage was awesome too. all in all i think kris still has "it" and it was a sick movie. as for skiing is ____. I donno good idea showing the history of the riders but liked 44 days better.

personally i didnt like it very much. However that doesnt mean it wasnt a good flick. The editing fliming and level of skiing was excellent, espically for the budget they had to use, but I personally hated the music, and thats the only reason why I didnt enjoy the movie. I believe that the sound track is one of the most important parts of any flim, it helps unify the movie. But i hated litteraly every song played in that movie.

While I wasn't a big fan of the original music I thought that the music that you 're-dubbed' it with just didn't capture the essence of the movie. I felt that the filming/editing style were meant to be a really fun, high-energy edit. And gangster rap isn't really fun music....

Yea I wasn't a fan of the original music, that wasn't right either though.

I feel like the number of high quality movies released online is going to start making people consider how many movies they buy. I feel like there isn't a reason to buy 3 movies anymore like I used to because they are really are expensive and don't surpass the quality of a lot of movies that are available for free by enough to justify all the money spent.

I can appreciate the rap, but no variety, and it makes the editing look bad. +karma for the try. BUt I think I just want to see something hungry. Whats wrong if you throw some other music in there? A banger hammer shot, is awesome, always, I like seeing it.
NM, I am just complaining because I have a different style, and what I want to see isnt shiny things anymore. I think the joystick movie had what I am looking for, almost.
There is a shit ton of awesome bc and park shoots every year. And I mean, if they arent out there doing that there is no point in making these movies. But the urban side is being left behind. there is more than crazy kinks out there. Im getting off track, but I just want to see some grit, skiing is too squeeky right now, its not all xgames pipe and bright suits in the bc... lets see it all.
sorry for bitching.

44 Days ruled! it was so legit and captured skiing in a fun and beautiful way that I haven't seen in a while; with some good music. If you don't like it thats fine, that's why there are like 15 movies coming out each year for everyones different tastes. Everyone should be excited that there are some many different style movies and skiers now, 5 to 10 years ago there was only one style skier and one style movie and only TGR, Poor Boyz, and MSP existed; thats when skiing was still not quite there yet and not respected as much. I'm 26, which is old freeskiing world and if I could show you the skiing movies I watched as a teenager you would laugh your asses off, they used to be really bad. We have it good now!

I think that Hunting Yeti was a great movie, but for different reasons. It was much more of an art film than I expected; especially from the webisodes...... they were drastically different....... but both were fantastic

I feel asleep watching it. I swear he put an iDoser song in there somewhere. But what I did see while I was awake was pretty sick.

personally i liked the webisodes the most, def have watched each a few times. But was suprised when the actual movie turned out to be different from the past movie and the mid season edits. It seemed thrown together, i liked the voice over segments but wondered as to why the shots were random.
