but unfortunately we have them, to the north, east and the south.
Luckily, not too far past the obnoxious, stepford wives, lego, cardboard box housing developments there is in fact unadulterated (for the most part) nature.
Wait, so because you came here once during a storm cycle you conclude it does nothing but rain, and because when you left the city, you were in the middle of nowhere? Depending on what you define as leaving the city you were either
A. In a different city and thus irrelevant because we are talking about Seattle...
B. Out in a rural area, and there was probably, god forbid, nature~
you know as well as i do that seattle is known for rain. and you also know that seattle is the only city in washington state. and its not nature when its polluted by trailers.
actually there are plenty more cities with higher average rainfall than seattle. There is also way more than just 1 city, maybe only one major one but there is also bellevue, tacoma, spokane...
and you're retarded if you think it's polluted by trailers. that being said, crystal mtn is full of redneck assholes. bellingham is full of damn liberal hippie douches. you can't get enough.
wow, dion branch needs to be traded now. he's fucking worthless and overrated, he hasn't even been the star reciever he was supposed to when he was healthy. talk about not playing through the pain.
Ahh yes, the retarded HICKASS shithole.... oh wait, the most educated city in the United States you say? really? wow! And all this time I though Microsoft, Boeing, Real Networks, Sun Microsystems, Amazon.com, Starbucks, Google, Bungie, Nordstrom, Mervin Manufacturing and so forth were arms dealers and blacksmiths.... what a bunch of idiots, Seattle really knows nothing of technology and is full of intellectua.... I mean hicks. Right on.
Ya but your basketball team moved to Oklahoma haha. You can't come back from that.
I liked Seattle as a city but I hated that you had to take the highway wherever you go.(at least from where I was at) and it rained every day I was there in June. But I got drunk and the views are pretty.
I also lived in Tulsa all summer and I would have to say that a move to Oklahoma city is like being demoted from middle management to the mail room. And the rest of your sports teams suck. But hey there is always next season.
we have 5 awesome volcanoes within a couple hours. we have water and mountains on all sides.
how many cities can you be on sailboat in the bay,and look at the space needle and columbia tower, see Mt.Rainier behind it, in south of the awesome and gorgeous cascade mountain range. then look behind you and see the brothers peak in the middle of the Olympics, just across more water.
I mean, yeah, it's gray and ugly here a lot of the time, but on those clear sunny days, it's probably the most gorgeous city ever and I wouldn't place myself anywhere else. except maybe in bellingham.
and we are not hicks! Seattle is one of the most metropolitan cities in the country! the only place you might find more fixed gear biker snobs is Portland. and people are snobby about it too. just drive 30 minutes outside and you'll find the hicks. don't diss this city! it fucking kicks SO much ass.
when you left the city you were in the middle of nowhere? I'm sorry but Seattle has one of the largest city spreads in the nation. seattle, everett, tacoma, mercer island, bellevue, kirkland, juanita, bothell, woodinville, redmond, issaquah, newcastle, renton, tukwilla...
I know I'm leaving some out, butt they're all connected. Takes a bit of driving to get to the "middle of nowhere"
the team moved cause the NBA is the most corrupt professional sports league in the world. the commissioner brokered this deal from the start cause the city wouldn't restructure a lease agreement he had a agreed to in the first place.
and to reply to the thread starter, we have had a pretty disappointing couple of years for basketball, and baseball, but we've had a great football team, which has made up for it for the most part. It looks like we might have a disappointing year in football, but in all fairness we've had a lot of injuries, I hope we could turn things around here.
yeah, this is not about seattle sucking as a place. i dont ever really want to live anywhere else. i will, but ill be back, because this is one of the most beautiful places in the world ... outside vancouver... stupid canada and their visas.
anyway, i still think seattle has hit the perfect storm of sport suck this year; and i dont think you can claim an american city that has done collectively worse than our teams have. thats the comparison, major, comparable american cities. i think if anyone can compete, it's St. Louis... but still, i think losing a team to OKC is a pretty big kicker. if the Blues decided to bail for... Tulsa or some garbage, then we'd have a fight.
the only thing I dont like about seattle and the eastside (Bellevue / Kirkland / Issiquah etc...) is that its so damn expensive, fucklin like a million dollars for an average home.
the only thing I don't like about seattle is the current 35-40 weather. it fucking blows. I want some rain or it to go back down to 23ish. that would be nice.
Seattle is sick, and 20 mins on I90 your out in the wilderness... big city, lots of rain = lots of snow and good mountains. Anyone who skis east coast would shit there pants on a line in the North Cascades... Not to mention we have the Sounders FC ranked 2nd in the US.. Seattle FTW
Hey, you do the same over here -- we've had a freeway under construction now for what, ten years? Sad too, because it's supposed to take another 20+ years to buildout. Oh well, that's bound to happen when one side of the state votes Republican and the other votes Democrat and the two are separated by a 300 mile desert.
so Seattle isn't aas bad as everyone who doesn't live there says it is. sure it may rain a lot but who doesn't like rain from time to time. and rain in seattle=snow in the sick ass mountains. Seattle is one of the coolest cities i've ever been to.
