yo i'm looken for some artist that are similar to jeru the damaja, sound wise, rap wise, beat wise, lyric wise. i just love his beats and can't find other music like his

I dont really know besides like gang starr n crookyln dodgers but i think he is in crooklyn
check out some of the shit from stones throw records, dudes like mf doom peanut butter wolf, quasi/madlib/the beat konducta are all super sick and have dope lyrics

  DJ Premier of Gangstarr produced his classic lp.  Find albums produced by Primo.  Mainstream artists like Jay-Z, Big L, M.O.P., and Nas used his beats in the mid to late nineties...AZ more recently...Pitch Black...

  Jeru is on a few Gangstarr tracks, one that stands out is on Hard to Earn.

  Primo put out a mixtape, in maybe 2000 (as early as '98) called NY Mindstate that was crazy.

  You might also like the DITC crew (Diamond D, AG, some other dudes...maybe ED OG?  I can't remember).

word those are dope to, not to much of the mainstream hip hop, rather have underground shit that most people all around america don't no shit about. then i blast my speakers and people wonder, and i'm like "haha i bet you wish you knew who the fuck this is, to bad you like lil wayne, hahaha"
