How to wash a coat?

How do you wash your coat without it losing waterproofing? and will it shrink?

go get some nikwax wash-in waterproof and wash it with that, then you will have even better waterproofing and it won't shrink if you dry it on a low temp setting

So im guessing i should buy the softshell for a regular coat?? theres so many kinds its rediculous.

For a regular coat, buy two things:

The Tech wash, as it will clean without clogging the breathability pores in your jacket.

Then the spray on waterproofing. You spray on an even coat, throw it in the dryer, and your outerwear will shed much more water than it used to, so you stay drier. The wash in types coat both sides, and make for decreased breathability.

Try to do this at least every 20 ski days, and after every couple of really heavy precip days.
