Was Mike Tyson the greatest boxer ever?

there was this other guy named ali or something that i heard was pretty good. but i dunno.

tyson was a beast, but there were better boxers. foreman and ali were better fighters in my opinion, and a couple of others whose names escape me right now.

Tyson was nowhere even close to the best boxer ever. IMHO You got to give that to Sugar Ray Leonard.
I will say that Tyson was the most exciting heavy weight all time but only when he was in his prime.

I think one of the trainers/coaches at the gym I used to go to fought la jolla (not sure if thats spelled right) the mexican boxer that was hella good.

i think ali was a god in his time and tyson was a god in his time so i dont know. no other boxer in history can punch like mike tyson though. Mike tyson didnt want to win the fight he wanted to knock you out. He turned boxing back into a fight, the way it should be. none of that decision bullshit with tyson

yea he really was a head hunter, but I think ALI could take those hits, as unreal as it might sound. He also has the reach, we all saw what lenox did to tyson, even though at the time he was washed up. If tyson can't get in there for the KO he's in trouble. definately not Tyson since he was beat by Lennox Lewis (of Canada!!), but I'd still say Mahammed Ali for his time then lennox probably.

Lenox louis never fought the mike tyson im talking about. james douglas was the only person to ever beat mike tyson before he went to jail and mike tyson was fucked up by then cause his fucking wife robin givens was a cold hearted gold digging fuck pit who broke tysons heart and stole all his money. And tyson still should have won that fight anyways cause he knocked douglas down for more than 10 seconds and then the round ended before tyson could finish him off. If it werent for robin givens tyson would not have fought much at all after prison but he had to to make more money cause robin stole it all. The real mike tyson was finished by 1989.

I'm sorry but the pound for pound best boxer in the world right now is Floyd Mayweather jr. The heavy weight guys just can't match up, even the best ones. After Mayweather its harder to say, maybe Oscar in his prime, Ricky Hatton if he gets some better coaching, and of course Bernard Hopkins, one of the toughest, most disciplined and definitely smartest boxers of all time.

marciano is over rated in my opinion

he was the best linguist ever in pro boxing.

Ali was a total scumbag, while he had your eyes glued to the TV his buddies were busy planning how to terrorize white people. He also almost died in the Thrilla In Manila.

roy jones Jr was fun to watch but he ended up being a puss.

Tyson was the best "knock-out" fighter and best brawler of all time. i spent a lot of $$$ on pay per view fights to watch him and he knocked people out :39 into the first round. looking back it was great but at the time i was mad the fight was so short!

mayweather is the best fighter out right now. pacquiao has power but floyd is a flawless fighter. he is in shape whether he is training or not.
