dude i completey agree. first off. I am all for taking care of the enviroment and limiting are effects on it. what I cannot stand is when ppl try to convince that the climate is in a crisis and winter is getting worse in the last 5 years. nothing has changed. still cold. still snows. world still goes round. Peace!

Look up the medieval climatic anomaly, sea surface temperatures, global temperature average (make sure its greater than 2000 years), research on how much fossil fuels we have and how much more pollution they are capable of producing in correlation to how much pollution a volcano produces.

The planet is getting warmer and you cant argue that. You can argue the cause though.

You can find facts against any side. I had to argue for creationism when I was in highschool..... I believe in Evolution 100%.

To really support a side, you need to know the counter-argument just as well.

id love to think globel warming isnt happening, and ther is a chance that it is not, however we would be fools to run the risk of listening to anit-scientists because we like what they say. that being said, a few arguments iv heard are;
scientists and governments are working together on this, this is because the scientists need huge funding to run their research on the effects of the heating of the planet (global warming or not) and the only way they can achieve this is for the governments to make it an international issue and threat so other governments will help with the funding.
statistics show that over period of time the earths heating rate and its carbon immisions rates do not match what so ever, in fact globel emisions follow the heating of the plannet by many many years. so with that you can say that humans imision rates arnt the major cause of 'global warming'

c'mon people..   the glacial ice has been receding long before we had an effect on it.   Seriously.  the Oceans have risen several feet in just the last few thousand years.  what caused the sea level rise a few hundred years ago. Caveman campfire smoke?

i dont know if that was a serious post or if that was your internet sarcasm.. but you always imply that man doesn't contribute to climate change/global wamring..

one example that you cannot dispute is what CFC's have done to our ozone.. only now that we have become aware of it and limited the way CFC's can be used/discarded is our ozone making a comeback.

anyway, reguardless if somebody believes in climate change or not, to have the attitude of "we can do whatever the fuck we want to the environment" is stupid. we need to conserve, we need to be clean.

I don't dispute that every time a human does anything, that it has an effect on the environment.  I just dispute all this fear mongering..  I wish, oh how I wish I could sit all of you in the classrooms that I sat in 30 years ago.

hahahahaha........   We are supposed to be out of oil and dead by now.  Too bad the internet didn't exist then.  I would pull that crap up.  Did you know that around the mid seventies, they were predicting a new ice age based on government models?  yep thats right!!

Listen..  most of the people who are paid to study this stuff are paid by who and for what reason?  They have something to sell, no one buys the good news, they only buy the bad news. Screwed up human nature as it is.  There is nothing wrong with being green and it is a good thing, don't get me wrong.

I'm still confused by Palin at least when she does acknowledge that man contributes a little bit to global warming, and that we need to talk about what are we going to fix this, yet to be entirely consistent would mean that any efforts you put forth are futile.
 
If it's not man made in your eyes, there isn't any plausible solution

yea, turn on your computer, drive your car, do everything you still do.. but when you sign off newschoolers dont leave your computer turned on when you're not there or when your in the drive thru at the fast food place or the bank, turn your car off (if you idle more then 10 seconds it wastes more gas then it does to turn off and restart your car) when you leave a room turn the damn lights off, dont water your lawn every god damn day.

there's doing what is exceptable and then there's being wastefull. nobody expects anybody to live in the stone age to save the planet, but just be concious of everything you can do to limit damage to the environment.

Depends on your car, and really isn't that big of a deal.
If you're driving an older model, 30 minutes of idling is equivalent to start up, where as the 10 sec rule is ok for newer cars.

Obeying the 10sec rule  won't make a huge dent in our national carbon footprint. Keeping in mind that burning a gallon of gas creates 19.564 pounds of carbon dioxide, if every one of the nation's 196 million licensed drivers reduced their idling by 10 minutes per day, we'd cut our annual CO2 output by 15.48 million metric tons. That would represent about 0.2 percent of the carbon dioxide that was emitted in the United States in 2006.

yea, maybe the rewards aren't staggering, but it still gets us in the mindset to conserve which would hopefully rub off on peoples activities elsewhere in life.


did you know that where i live (slc) emissions from cars and industrial factories are causing snow to have a lower albedo (albedo is the percentage of heat/energy from the sun an object reflects) which then results in snow melting quicker because it is infact "less white"

i'm not trying to use that as an argument or whatever, just pointing it out as a point of interest.
