Is carbon ollieband all its cracked up to be?

Ok I have ridden many Line skis (chronics, moships, invaders, 1260s, mike nicks), and I have ridden the carbon ollieband before (chrnoics, moships)....

Im planning on orderign the ltd anthems to replace my moships, but I can get the regular ones for the same price....

My question is.....do u guys really think the carbon is all its cracked up to be?  I end up hitting more rails the kickers (i just learned 5s last year)..

Ive never really noticed a significant difference before, but i dont ride nearly enough to really tell the difference...

So basically im askin is it worth it to get the ltd anthems, or go with the carbon ollieband ones?

ive ridden invaders with and without the ollie band and i have never noticed a difference

It's a thin piece of carbon over core which basically makes the ski more responsive which results in more pop.

ya i really dont see a huge difference in the carbon from my experience.

i understand the concept behind it, but ive personally never noticed it

its just added weight really... its supposed to add pop, but ive heard its no different then a ski without it.

yes. when i had my old invaders before they got stollen. the green ones. one day i rode a friends last year invaders the green and pink ones and when i hoped back on mine i could deffinatly tell the difference. it makes the ski ALOT popier. and alot more responsive

Its not, just a selling point. These olliebands are nothing more than a millimeter(or less than) thick strip of carbon fibre. They don't make a difference in pop.

its not much noticeable, makes it slightly stiffer, nothing more.

carbon does not have inherent elastic properties, so it does not make the ski more poppy it does however improve strength, but in the industry it has no use other than a marketing tool, when you are in the biz of making skis it is all about the core, all of your riding characteristics can be from construction and profile of the core.

carbon might not be elastic, but the theory behind it is its already stretched to its limits where it rests, so you bend the ski the carbon bends more than it wants and then wants to go back to its resting zone and not be flexed. so it creates power to get back to where it was, more so than having nothing strung there.

obviously its not going to make you ollie one foot higher but it for sure will make the ski more responsive.
