I am about to buy a pair of mad trix, but i cant decide whethe to buy them with or without the plate. It sounds like an awesome set-up but ive heard that it makes the skis heavy and i dont know if the extra weight is worthit or not.

almost 99% ppl on this board say no-plate.
all same reason: goddamn heavy.
but have to admit that it sounds cool; reversing binding system.
theyre pretty much the same, big air and big mt mode from what i heard.
same $$ and mount them w/o a plate.

Ya i think thats what im gonna do, is nout em with out the plate. Any tips on which bindings would work best? I was looking at the tyrolia mad flex bindings, only cuz thats what was recommended. There is also the tyrolia hd 14 railflex which allows you to move your binding back and forth for versatility.

if your a powerful skier that charges hard, but occasionally skies park, then get the system, but otherwise, dont get it cuz its mad heavy

I do ski pretty much everything and you could say hard, but this year i wanted to get more into freestyle skiing and jumping. Would you say that i should take the system off for mostly jumping and jibbing where quick manuevers would be needed?

Does anyone know if there is any big difference between the 03 and 04 version of the mad trix? I know the basic difference is the new graphics and a tougher monocoque. I think im gonna get the 03 version though cuz i think it looks sweet.

Yea they are pritty heavy and delaminate at the drop of a hat, if you are particular with choosing a 'Light' ski don't choose the mad trixs.

NO dont keep the plate take that shit off i had some a few years ago and the plate broke it was a little heavy but it isnt that bad in weight it had some Volkl P40's (racing Skis) that were as heavy as the Mad Trix.
