for people who go to school in NY or used to live there. Im a junior and I was thinking about dropping my french course because I hate it. If i drop french, i dont get an advanced regents diploma. I was wondering what the importance of an ARD is in new york schools/ in schools out of state. And if anyone got into good schools without an ARD. I get good standerdized test scores, and mostly B's.Â

Well im pretty sure the advanced regents diploma is pretty much standard now, at least it was at my schools. They basically forced us to do it. That being said I really don't know how difficult it is to get into schools if you don't have it cause i really don't know anybody that didn't get it.

I believe it is CA and Ny that have regents degrees still. They dont mean shit. I Grad. in 2000 with a regular regents, every school I looked didnt even know what one was. I wouldn't worry about it. Go and find out if you can take another course if your that worried. I want to a small school in Springfield MA called Wnec and during the inteview I asked about the regents thing and the lady pretty much laughed at me. So again I would check first with your GC and see what you can do other then take French and but really they do not mean much.
