yeah i heard about that last night. it wasn't harper, it was the guy writing his speech, apparently he was pressured by his deadline so he just stole a bunch of material from whatshisface's speech. pretty funny shit actually.

Im not voting based on the issues because I think all the 'solutions' are flawed from the get go because they are based on the current economic system that, IMO, just isnt sustainable.
I'm voting Green based on principles and their moral outlook. They are looking outside the system for solutions and they present a very holistic outview on politics compared to our 'standard' choices.

Prime Ministers and Presidents don't write their own speeches, speechwriters do. Politicans usually have quite a few of them. The speechwriter who wrote the speech (or copied most of it) has apologized and resigned (he was still working on the team). It was a mistake, though not that big of a deal. It happened in 2003. Convenient how everybody found out about this FIVE YEARS later, days before the federal debates.
Oh, and it's not like the others are angels. Dion plagiarized an environmental plan from David Suzuki in 2006. Why isn't everyone up in arms about that?
