Candide Thovex's 1080s

i saw a dakine add in sbc skier and the graphics on the bottom of his 1080s are different then the ones i saw in the store. i know he rides the 181s is there a different base graphic on the 181s? or is it just like a pro-specific model or something.

ohhh nooo. we have been through about 1000000 threads of this right after the X-games. salomon sent 1080s with their best race skis' bases to him and CR for the pipe for better speed and pop n shiz. they are not what you buy in stores.

there is no wood core for the 1000000000000th time.
there is no 139/149 dumont pro model.

I have this magazine that is like a big advertisement for colorado. and it has a pic of candide with these white teneighties w/ spaceframe, and on the ski it says Candide in red letters, could this be his pro model? i got this a year ago, so it might be a prototype too. i keep hearing things about camo and beach graphics though????

I'm pretty sure they have graphite race bases, and a wood/foam core for better flex and durability.

Depending on the company big name pros can get different skis than you can buy in a store. Just like race skis they are constructed differently, different flex pattern, and stiffness. I am pretty sure that K2 makes their race skis in the US still, so they probaly make their skis for Pep and all those guys here too.

the ones u saw were a variation of the space frame. it was the first stage in the candid pro model. the ski wil be stiffer when it hits the public

the ones from the x games, as i am told by my friendly salomon rep, did indeed have a wodcore, and they will be available for sale...

its not a full wood core. we've been over that. there is wood fibre mixed with the foam to reduce ski flap on landings and shit. its not true wood
