I picked up a pair of last years ARGs and dont know where to mount them? Some people have said mount them at center to a few clicks back and some have said a 5 to 7. also i need some advice on what are the best bindings for these skis, im 5'9" 160lbs
hey man, good choice on the skis! they are so much fun! i would say 5cm back from center. it's the factory recomended line and puts you over the fat part of the ski (meaning thickness, not width). you don't need to center mount them, it's not a park ski. plus it's the point that lets the sidecut work for you. when i first got mine i mounted them 3.5 back and felt forward of the sidecut - they still are amazing no matter what. but i am moving mine back to 5 back from center because i think that is the best spot to allow you to get the most out of the ski. then just pray for pow so you can take them out and shred!
i agree with factory settings unless you have a real specific reason not to. centre would be a poor choice since it's a ski for skiing powder forwards and has a very specific sidecut designed around the factory recommended spot. ARGs fuckin rock, enjoy
no i mean sidecut. the arg's have a sidecut within a reverse sidecut to make it handle better on harder snow for getting back to the lift and what not. but the sidecut within the reverse sidecut isn't very big which is why i think 5 back is good because with it covering such a small part of the ski there isn't too much room to play around with the mounting point without getting infront of it. like i said it still works ( i originally mounted mine at 3.5 back) and is awesome. but i did feel a little forward of it on trails and i think you can get the most out of the ski at 5 back
