Even though Americans know that our government is lying to us, is out of our control, and is running our country to the ground, people still fall into the trap that is this presidential election
If we elect McCain or Obama, nothing will change. The lobbyists won't leave, senate will still continue to write unconstitutional bills, and someones money is going to be taken from them to be spent how ever lobbyists decide. The social security and taxes I pay will be given either to a worthless family who puts it towards their credit card debt, to another war, or better yet maybe it will help pay off the 10 trilllion of debt we have.
The reality is our entire government is so backwards and is so far gone that we think that even though it sucks, we think we can't do anything about it so we just accept it and pick the lesser of two evils.
The fact is: our government is insane, by definition: we flout societal norms and have become a danger to ourself and others. Every country now knows we are broke, they haven't said anything yet but soon we will see. The system that we call our government is so far away from our Constitution that we are no longer considered democratic or capitalistic, but rather nearly
socialist.
When congress thinks it's ok to blatantly write that a bill cannot be reviewed in our balance of power, when all of our countries money is gone but we consider spending 700 billion on a couple companies to help them out, when lobbyists gain more power than the people, when you the government takes money out of your checks and tells you you'll never see it again, when you can't skate in your backyard anymore. We almost printed about a trillion dollars of money out of thin air.
I can't believe so many people are content with where our country is and think that electing a "fresh" candidate will change anything. Obama and McCain will continue the downward spiral towards our contries death.
What can we do? I thought Ron Paul would do something, now he's gone I have no hope...
