Ways to get lift tickets

Yeah so....

1.  With this economy being so terrible right now/gas prices being ridiculous
2.  Being 25, and out of college
3.  80 Dollar lift tickets, ridiculous


How the hell does when acquire discounted/cheap/free lift tickets?  Other than working at the mtn, a ski shop, or hookups.  Does anyone know of any "tricks"  so that I do not go on welfare this season?

Its AWESOME that season pass deals in New England are like $1,400 a month.


Sometimes gas stations do those deals where u fill up and for like every 5 fill ups you get a free lift ticket or some shit.  Are there any other deals like that out there.

Anything, anyone know of?

Gotta be careful with that one. A buncha kids here in utah got student alta passes, they didn't have any classes for spring semester and alta canceled their passes until they paid the difference. It all depends ont he resort, for example with the same kids, PC didn't give a shit and nothing happened to their PC passes.

295 dollar mt snow pass because my sister is in college and will get me the paperwork. such a sick deal
what i sometimes do is skin up to a lift that starts about halfway up the mountain because they never check those so you can just lap those all day like north face at mt snow and ursa at stratton, if you can make it past the base lifts you're fine, so either sneak through the line or skin/hike up to a middle lift

sucks that you have to pay that much, im getting a season pass for 205 this year.


one thing you can do is just borrow a pass from somebody to get to the top, then give them their pass back without going all the way to the bottom and just ride lifts that don't require a pass all day. of course this depends on a 3rd person involved to relay the pass, and the fact that your mountain has mid lifts that dont require a pass

yea like bolten valley. tickets are like $45 bucks or something close to that. i think its actually in the low 50s but im not sure

Wow I didn't even know whistler was that rediculous... For a youth at whis it's around $500 for an unlimited pass. And my local hill is something like $175 and it's probably a million times better than the ec resorts. And there's 3 within an hour of me and the most expensive is $300 I think. West coast isn't bad if you stay away from the mega resorts. Our small resorts are way cheaper and probably still better than big ec resorts. Revelstoke is $850 for an adult and it's got the largest vertical drop in north america, and some of the nicest snow around.You can't even compare the two coasts.

Bottom line: if you want good skiing and can get out here money is no excuse. You won't be paying more than if you stayed on the east coast.

Find someone who looks somewhat similar to you, follow them around till no ones around, jump em take their pass burry the body in the snow, you have the whole season before you have to worry about someone finding them.
problem solved, only thing is how do you get a good deal on the pass you need to fallow him around???

1.) Buy AT gear, hike.......
2.) Fake student ID, they usually get discounted rates
3.) Military, totally worth it, everywhere cuts you deal, all the vacation spots, we pay 29 while everyone else pays 80, not a bad gig and you really dont have to do shit, no one really "works" in the Army, we just make money and sit around all day and play PS3 or sleep, then go home, unless its winter, we do a lot of "training" in our local mountain range and do a lot of AT and hiking, oh wait, we use a snowmachine to get to the top, so we just ski all day instead

If your serious about scoring free trickets and are willing to put a little work into it at first, this will pay off in the long run. 

Start a blog about skiing that your continually updating with content.  Get your friends to visit on a regular basis, and in a month youll have enough traffic to get your alexa and Page Rank up high enough to schmooze the resort PR guy into getting you free lift tickets so you can write blog posts about your time on the mountain.
