Can someone tell me how to operate venetian blinds?

I've been trying to close the blinds in my room for about 15 minutes now and the usual method of pull back and forth until they go down isn't working. How the hell do you make these things go down? I've been living in houses full of them my entire life and I think it's time I learn how to use them.

The video is "not available" but for some reason when I skipped to 6:45 the audio started playing... and I hear "we get a little white cock (caulk) and fill that in" and lol'd. But I can't see anything.

AHAHAH!!!! I figured it out!!! I thought you meant pull in the Z axis... but the secret is in the X axis!!! You don't know how good it feels to figure out something that's been bothering you for years... I just discovered the significance in "mind your Ps and Qs" yesterday and it's the same feeling.
