just out of interest, what makes a double cork any more 'legit' than a double flip?aren't they essentially the same thing? in any case, why would you call jacob's trick a double flip rather than a double cork? to me it looked like his was a cork 7 to cork 5 making a double cork 12 no?
i'm not trying to argue- i haven't seen the other tricks yet so maybe you're right about pk, idk, i'm just interested what you mean about jacob...

Way sick but it looked more like a D7 to whatever than a cork7. He was definately fully upsidedown twice.

i have mess in tricks names, but.. i mean the second westers trick is not dub cork, for me its something like cork 7 to rodeo (or some other flip, cause his head is brightly under skis)... i know that i am probably wrong:))) but why is this called dub cork?
the stuff from pk is for me dub cork...

id also say a dub cork is sicker then the dub flip, its just personal opinion though, a dub cork just seems way crazier to me

Either way, BOTH tricks were ridiculous, with solid grabs throughout. That will separate the double huckers from people who do it with a bit more control and keep a hand on their skis.

i agree. wester's looked more like a d-spin 7 to underflip or something. im not saying it wasnt sick, but i think that pk's was more of a "double cork".

PK's dub cork is the sickest thing I've ever seen!
are the announcers retarded?
they kept saying it was just regular spins.
and over to Jacob, I find it a bit weird people calling it double cork, cause he goes upside down..

As dub flips and other big off axis rotations continue to evolve, it will become impossible to definitively classify them in terms of the rotation.
Is a kang flip a rodeo 9.....or is it an underflip to a rodeo 5? Is Pete O's trick a misty 5 or an overflip? Who knows? The truth is, that the axis is slightly different each time one of those particular tricks is thrown, therefore leaving defiining of the trick "mathematically" pointless.
In this case, Jacob's 12 was clearly more "corked"...maybe so much as to be more of a d-spin. In my opinion, PK's 12 was thrown on a more stylish and photogenic axis. However, Jacob's appeared to be more technically difficult because he did clearly invert twice. I'd say that Jacob's trick looked slightly more gymnastic or aerialish...not necessarily a criticism.
Trick naming aside, they both pushed the level of progression, and they proved that it is possible to inject style and personality into a super tech trick. Thank god.
