I have a mbp that is running tiger. My brother got a new mbp a few days ago that obiously runs on leopard and comes with the mac os x install disks. So my question is, would I be able to use his install disks that came with the computer to load leopard onto my computer.
it will work if it is for the same model computer (if you have a macbook pro with tiger, the backup leopard disc your brother got with his mbp should work....but it wont if your trying to install it onto an imac or macbook)
Yeah we both have macbook pros. I think i remember on my tiger reinstall disk that there was an option of a clean install or an archive install. What one of these should i chose when i try to install leopard?
Do a clean install, assuming it'll work without some sort of product key.
But why would you wanna run Leopard over Tiger anyway? It runs way more background process' that eat up CPU cycles, and still somewhat buggy.
