What do you mean? They already took care of it... by taking over management of Snoqualmie. You won't see them putting in a park any time in the foreseeable future, no matter who the owners are. However, they did do some work on the halfpipe over the summer, but who knows what that means.
exactly
problem: Crystal was losing customers to snoqualmie because of their lack of park.
solution: Crystal bought Snoqualmie, now it doesn't matter if they lose customers to themselves.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Crystal (Boyne) just managing the summit now? I don't know how that plays into the customer base, but just wondering.
By the way, the secret Crystal park is allways an option if you know where to look.
The people that own Sno/Loon is CNL. They don't know/don't care about running a mountain, so they leave that to Boyne and Booth Creek. I'm not sure why they ended Booth's management of Sno though, because they still have them running Tahoe. Anyway, Boyne certainly takes a percentage, so it doesn't matter what mountain the customer chooses.
For the years this has been in existance, its a wonder why more people don't take advantage of it. They complain and complain about there being no park, when all along there IS one right under their noses. come on kids, get with it. the secret park is where its at.
So basically I went down to hood this summer, we ran into this chick that my friend knew when he was in CMAC (Crystal Mountain Alpine Club). She had moved to Utah and was there stay at the Huck with her ski team Rowmark. Anyways she was going out with this kid named "Andrew Kircher", so I asked him if his dad owned Crystal Mountain and he said "yeah, he does...". So I talked to him about how much a park would mean to me, and he said that he'll talk to his dad about putting one in because he realizes how much all of us Crystal Mountain freeskier locals would like a park.
I just found the secret park last year! This season my friends and I are gonna rape and pillage the park like no other! Good thing that not many others will be able to find it. :)
I could care less about a crystal park, seriously, it won't be as good as the snoqualmie park, no matter how low that bar may be, and your crystal pass is good at snoqualmie.
I've always thought of the crystal park as kinda grassroots. I mean, it is initially setup by Crystal employees, but as you said their park crew hardly ever does any park maintenance. I usually always bring a shovel up and try to clean things up a little bit before I start hitting anything.
