so i was talking to the head rep last night about my boot problems and just givin input on the stuff i used last season. So the boots gave me major shinbang, and from testing alot of other boots ive determined the cause was that id get to the end of travel for the boot and it would stop and the impact was giving out most of the problems, we talked and really his only suggestion was to get a stiffer boot, i was using the MOJO XP at a 110 flex and he thinks i should go to a race boot with flex up to 130, but the problem is that with a boot that stiff im still gonna get alot of bang because the boot is too stiff. He (and my dad) arent too keen on switchin off head stuff (mad discounts) and from tryin this years SPKs and Rampages i found that they didnt have the same end of travel problems that the mojos did. They are both racers so theyre knowledege on what would work for park is pretty limited. I need u guys to prove/disprove my point so i can actually get out of this stalemate of an argument.

usually shin bang is caused by ill fitting boots or landing really backseat.. if you are reaching the end of travel point (from what i understand) that suggests you are able to put too much pressure on the boot.. and maybe a stiffer boot would limit that.. but I'm not a boot expert.. i had shin bang in boots that were too stiff for me.. so i went softer..

I'm not 100% on this but I don't think boot flex has anything to do with shinbang. Shinbang is caused by landing backseat-there is no way to avoid shinbang if you land backseat but it makes it worse if your boots don't fit tight because your legs start to move backwards quickly and are stopped by the back of your boot- if they fit snugly the impact won't be as bad. a 130 racing boot will not be good for park for a couple reasons. 1- it won't let you flex as easily to adjust your balance and 2- race boots have a more foreward stance that will make it harder to ski switch. I would look into booster straps before I got new boots.

The fact of the matter is, that if Head Boots just do not fit your foot right, you will get situations like shin bang, as well as other more annoying problems.
Maybe try a softer boot from Head? Like the the regular Mojo? I know its a little more forgiving when jibbing and buttering.. not sure how much more forgiving they are than the XP though..
The Rampages are probably easier on your shin because of the 3 piece design, as well as the fluid flex of having the full on tounge.. So maybe with the XP's, there is just a point on the cuff that cannot agree with the shape, or the manner in which that area flexes in accordance to your shin.

landing backseat is a cause of shinbang but not the only one, albeit a major one. if u land too hard frontseat especially switch, you end up putting alot of pressure on ur shins...the main reason i felt like i was getting it.
second, i always have boosters on my boots
third, the basic mojo boot is total shit, it dosent feel right on my foot at all. I dont wanna go to a softer boot really, even though the spk kaos fits oh so perfectly. i like the 110 flex its a perfect medium for all around use in my opinion. but i tried the rossis, techicas, spks, rampages, 2 diff race boots from head, the basic mojo, and with the 4 buckle boots i always feel that end of travel problem when flexing. They argued that it will be different cause they will be stiffer once it gets cold, but i know for a fact that even when its cold u can still get get full flex no matter what temp, from hard impacts.
when it came to the race boots i tried, they felt good, like the mojo xp (same last for one, the other was just a lil narrower in the toebox) I really dont want a stiffer boot, but i dont want a softer boot. I liked the rampages cause they had that nice fluid flex, spks did too, and it felt like the wire buckles would lay the power on porgessively so u wouldnt over flex the boot. They couldve fit a lil better but i can always change liners.

if you're going to get another boot, like a rampage or SPK, I highly suggest going for the rampage, or even the IL Moro, or Cross, or maybe even the pro.
Dalbellos tend to be better priced than most companies anyways, and sounds like you're diggin the feel of the full flex tongue on the rampages. If they fit well, and are the right size, and are recommended by your bootfitter, i dont see why you should even screw around with another boot.
Hell.. maybe even try Full Tilt if there are any to try on..
