Weeds and Skiing

   I have been having a debate with my roomates.  I say that when stoned one can ski just as well and charge as hard on anything.  They however say that weed and skiing don't mix.  Anyone else out there like to smoke and ski?

aye, weed is not a drug, but the active chemical THC is a mild hallucinogen.

right, which is why it is such a nice substance...it is like tea+

and it takes a LOT of weed to get you as enlightened as, say, psilocybins...like I've eaten over a dozen cookies in one sitting, and had some more after, and even though I was flying high, I still wasn't anywhere near the level of a true psychedelic.

I love it, it's like a dream. I just feel so mellow and in control. I find when I'm sober I tend to be choppy and make little mistakes, a little haze just gets me in the flow.

Of course I've been doing action sports high since I was a wee tike lollerblading around town back in the 90's. Now we take beach breaks on the river while kayaking too, it's f-in awesome to be floatin down through rapids while buzzed.

It's a mild painkiller too so it's also good at the end of the day.

oh snap well I havent tried any psychadelics so you probably have more experience in that area. weed isn't a drug you are absolutely right (no sarcasm), which is why it should be legal because it is fun, harmless stuff.

my godfather (dad's best friend) says he cant ski at all high
but my dad and i fucking shred after smoking a dubie, it all depends on the person i think
plus the more you do it the more used to it you get, but the first time i ever smoked was while skiing at bolton valley, so thats what im used t.o

I wouldnt put it in the same catagory as tea but i know what you mean like if you smoke and sit down you can feel pretty high but if you go walk around and do stuff like hike you cant feel the effects as much. But i still do see a difference in my skiing after ive lit up my chalice. I definitely feel more steezy but dont care as much about technical tricks like ill do just slow floaty threes and ones all day long cause they feel so cool when your feelin irie mann.

I completely agree with you.  Weed is such just a relaxing thing to do with friende.  I hate how media stereotypes it into this "drug".  I would seriously consider Mt. Dew more harmful and addictive than pot.

i don't have an issue with smoking and skiing (even though i've never done it), i have an issue with him calling somebody a "tool" for not doing it.

Soking and skiing is one of the best feelings ever, I feel like I can do anything.  Suddenly all that nervousness about that new trick vanishes and you can't see how it would go wrong.  probably a little dangerous but whatevs, fuck look at some of the shit we do sober...

fag. I was the room mate saying its better not skiing high. And i was just stating the reason he hadnt smoked and skied is cuase he is like 10 and thats way to young to smoke. THis thread is fucking pointless.

true dat..i love days when its just dumping and gray outside..being high these days are the best...kinda wierd but I actually enjoy hiking the park when im blown..or just chillin in there ha...does anybody else think this?

My skiing morning:
call up my friend to get a ride, call up my other friend to get a bag, make a sammy for lunch and a bowl of cereal. get da weed get in the car drive to sunoco and get a pack of cigs a gallon of tea and two dutches twist the dutches up smoke one. get to the mountain on the lift drink tea and chain smoke ski until im not stoned anymore and thro down nail some nice shit and get stoned again!!!!!!
