Im really stoked on peps new pro model and pretty sure its what i want for the season.
Has anyone skied on it yet and what did you think?
How heavy are they. Ive skied K2 forever and know fair well how heavy those bastards are. I have a pair on Salomon 916 racestocks (heavy as fuck binding). So what's the weight like?
Thanks

well they were not light when i fondled them. I'm not really sure what to compare them too. Medium stiff flex, more of a big mountain ski than a park ski IMO.

I heard soft tips and stiffer tails. Medium flex. Not many people have ridden them though...

they are in fact new molds, i was sure to ask tim petrick (vp of k2) when he made the trip to my shop, as i was curious about that myself.
now, it is a medium soft tip, with a medium tail. its public enemy/extreme beefy, fairly thick profile, riveted tip and tail, standard sidewall, no abs sides. it does lack the ptex topsheet that made last years public enemys tanks. that being said, they weigh a touch more than last years pes because of the girth.
they ski pretty well, they have a ton more pop than peps old pro model, and they do ski well in a variety of conditions. i ran them hard through the trees at stratton in the rain, and they were fairly responsive in the slop. didnt get to ski park with them as i only had them two runs, and we werent anywhere near a park to try them in.

what length did you ski, and from what time you had on them do you think they would work well for a more jump oriented ski? like is it something like an anthem where you could spin 10's just as easy as with other park ski's, or is it more like an elizabeth where its more for big slow spins?
basically what im looking for is a stiffer, somewhat beefier anthem type park ski, more for jumps than anything else, and maybe a tiny bit of all mtn jibbing, i got pow skis for pow.

i rode the 189s. id say theyre def more jump oriented, maybe a bit of jibbing, but its not gonna be that responsive for technical changeups on rails. id lean more to slow spins than fast 10s, but its not unrealistic. its def more all mountain jibbing than true park, and even then, more jumps then jibs

you think a 179 would be good though for slightly more technical stuff?

like say something like a 179 anthem, or like just a normal park ski, like pipe cleaners, just for reference
All times are Eastern (-5)
